Since first elected to the Missouri House of Representatives in 2004, I have worked on a number of important issues.  To date, 30 bills that I either sponsored or co-sponsored have become law.  I have also received a number of legislative awards.  Below is a list of a few of the bills that I sponsored or co-sponsored that are now law and some of the legislative recognition I have received.

2009

     Recipient, 2009 St. Louis Business Journal Legislative Award
     House Bill 359
– Reforms the process in which highway projects are bid
     House Bill 381 – Reforms fee office bidding practices

2008

     House Bill 1715 – Changes the laws regarding watercraft and
            intoxication-related offenses
     House Bill 1888
– Changes provisions relating to the Springfield Airport

2007

     House Bill 444 – Authorizes an income tax deduction for social
           security benefits
     House Bill 453
– Authorizes a tax credit for donations to food pantries
     House Bill 732
– Adds emergency personnel to those eligible for
           bridge and highway naming

2006

     Freshman Class President
     Tourism Legislator of the Year
     House Bill 1427
– Waives fee and penalties for military personnel in certain           circumstances
     House Bill 1787 – Establishes the Guard at Home program to assist
           families of active military

2005

     Freshman Class President
     Freshman Legislator of the Year for Tourism
     House Bill 393
– Major tort reform legislation
     House Bill 462 – Changes the laws regarding suicide prevention
